Florian Schmidt-Gabain is as an attorney in Zurich, Switzerland, and specialises in contract, inheritance and intellectual property law. He regularly advises in matters of national and international estate planning, especially regarding the artistic field, and develops succession solutions for companies. He is an avid contract editor and also a litigator. Besides, he lectures on art law at the Universities of Basel and Zurich as well as at the University of Arts Bern. He and Thomas Strässle founded the Centre for Artistic Estates in 2019.
